I came upon this beetle in the garden this morning. Google goggles couldn't make heads or tails of it, so I looked up 'gold beetle'. I found the name of this shining bug on this site: the garden chafer (Phyllopertha horticola). This garden chafer was taking a trip on an overblown Muscari botryoides (which is called by the popular name 'little blue grape' in the Netherlands) which was near the rosebush actually.
